सामान्य रूप से किसी भी मंत्र का सवा लाख जप करना उत्तम माना जाता है।
मंत्र जप की शुरुआत सोमवार से करना श्रेष्ठ माना जाता है

जप प्रातः 12 बजे से पहले करें, क्योंकि मान्यता है कि दोपहर के बाद इस मंत्र का पूर्ण फल नहीं मिलता

अथवा प्रातःकाल किसी शिव मंदिर में शिवलिंग पूजन कर, घर आकर घी का दीपक जलाकर जप करें
